The situation

When I stepped in, SottoPelle Therapy was a growing, multi-state hormone-therapy practice running on technology that couldn’t safely support it. Computers were spread across ten offices, each on its own peer-to-peer workgroup network with nothing centrally managed or connected. PCs were infected. Patient records were largely on paper, and what wasn’t lived in a failing EMR the practice was actively outgrowing. The public face of the business was a poor WordPress site. Every office was effectively its own island: no shared systems, no central control, no consistent security, and no single source of truth.

What I built

I rebuilt the foundation first: I consolidated all ten offices onto a structured, centrally managed Microsoft Windows domain, with each location secured behind Cisco ASA firewalls with Cisco Catalyst switching and access points, and colocated the core infrastructure in a proper data center instead of scattered across closets in ten locations. I moved the practice off insecure workgroups and onto a unified, domain-managed environment: every PC across the country centrally managed, remotely administered, secured, and cleaned up. I implemented a Mitel phone system with PC integration to unify communications. One coherent, secure, remotely controlled IT operation in place of ten disconnected, infected ones.

On top of that foundation, I designed and built a custom Electronic Medical Records platform tailored specifically to their hormone-therapy business, not an off-the-shelf EMR bent to fit, but software built around how they actually practiced. It handled patient scheduling and billing and included digital dosing tools built for their specific therapy protocols. Because it was purpose-built for their model, it became a genuine asset: the platform was licensable to their partner practices, turning an internal system into standardized, revenue-generating intellectual property.

Results

The outcome spoke for itself: a single person provided automated support for 10+ offices around the country and more than 80 employees, with almost no support calls. SottoPelle went from paper charts, infected machines, and ten isolated offices to a secure, compliant, centrally run technology operation and a proprietary EMR that both ran the practice and generated licensing value.
